Announcing a Simpler, More Transparent Pricing Model
The Scalr pricing model continues to be simplified. Users are only charged for runs, nothing else.
We're excited to announce an update to our pricing model that makes it even simpler and more transparent.
We are no longer billing for run minutes. Everything else with the pricing model remains the same.
From now on, your plan will be based solely on the number of runs you need. We're making this change because we believe the real value of Scalr lies in everything that happens around the run—the reporting, integrations, policy enforcement, state management, and collaborative workflows.
To ensure fair usage and prevent abuse, we're continuing to use the shared minute pool system that we have always had. For each run included in your plan, we will add 20 minutes to your shared pool (increased from 10 minutes previously). Based on our analysis, this provides ample time for virtually all customer needs. For example, if your plan includes 1,000 runs per month, you have a shared pool of 20,000 minutes total. All your runs draw from this shared pool based on their actual runtime—so a 1-minute run uses 1 minute from the pool, leaving 19,999 minutes for your remaining runs.
We will also add an email warning for any customer who comes within 90% of the run minutes threshold to ensure we take action before the threshold is hit.
If you have a valid use case that requires more minutes, don't worry. Contact our support team at support.scalr.com, and we will work with you to increase your run minutes at no additional cost.
This change is our commitment to aligning our pricing with the true value we bring to your organization. You can now focus on building and managing your infrastructure without worrying about the clock.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team.
Thanks,
The Scalr Team
